American Musicology Society
The American Musicological Society is dedicated to the study and advancement of musicology—the academic study of music. Founded in 1934, the AMS serves researchers, educators, students, and other professionals involved in music scholarship, particularly in the areas of history, theory, and cultural analysis of music. We reimagined their website to create synergy between music and design.

Our Process
UX Design
The American Musicological Society (AMS) website was a complex digital environment, with hundreds of interconnected pages serving a diverse audience. We collaborated closely with AMS to design a clear and intuitive user journey that significantly improved overall site navigation and usability. User Experience was at the forefront of our strategy. Through our comprehensive methodology, we implemented a robust search function, intuitive filters, and multiple pathways to access key content, ensuring users could quickly and easily find the information they needed.
Graphic Design
AMS came to us with a clear and specific vision for their website design. We partnered closely with their team to bring that vision to life. Our approach featured a vibrant, eye-catching aesthetic that built upon and expanded their existing color palette and logo. We used expressive, strategically placed imagery to draw attention to key sections and enhance the visual storytelling throughout the site.
Development & QA
Our expert WordPress web developers specialize in building non-profit websites that are not only visually appealing but also bug-free and highly functional. We focus on creating seamless user experiences, ensuring that each site is easy to navigate and manage. Our code-base is updated monthly to ensure the highest level of security.
SEO
All our websites come with Search Engine Optimization technology, tools, and training. By optimizing a website’s content, structure, and technical aspects, SEO helps ensure that it appears higher in search results, making it easier for potential donors and volunteers to find. This increased visibility leads to more organic traffic, which is often more valuable than paid traffic because it’s driven by genuine interest in the website’s offerings. Additionally, SEO helps build credibility and trust, as users tend to associate higher-ranking sites with authority and reliability.
